Making Our Communities Strong

Wendy Ullman and her husband Dan have been your neighbors in Plumstead Township for 32 years.  Wendy is an educator and Dan is a small business owner. Together they raised three daughters, all graduates of Central Bucks schools who have become strong, independent, accomplished women.

Wendy has taught English at Bucks County Community College and Montgomery County Community College for 30  years. She knows firsthand the challenges of being a working mom balancing family life and a fulfilling career.

Over the years, Wendy used her abilities to connect, listen, and work with others from different backgrounds. In the classroom, she has worked with thousands of students throughout her 30 years of service.  Her students have come from all walks of life and represent the differing goals, values, and aspirations of our communities. Wendy has seen first hand the empowering effect of mastering critical thinking and communication skills. As part of a faculty of over 750, she has actively collaborated with colleagues and chaired and served on a variety of committees.

As a member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT-PA), Wendy has served on the negotiating team. This task that involved bringing together different sides and priorities to a fair and equitable solution for the good of the college community as a whole.

Wendy was called to serve because she is fed up with the polarized and dysfunctional state of government in Harrisburg. She brings collaborative skills and a fresh perspective to shake up the status quo and get things done.

Households, small businesses, and colleges must work within the limits of a budget. The state of Pennsylvania must do so as well. Wendy’s experience as a parent, educator, and wife of a small business owner have impressed on her the necessity of being a fiscal realist. She will focus on creating an economy that works for everyone - not just big corporations.

She is a member of Plumstead Democrats, Pennsylvania Federation of Women Democrats, Delaware & Lehigh Natural Heritage Corridor, Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition and Moms Demand Action. Wendy loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking local trails with her husband Dan and dog Gracie, and bike riding, kayaking, and cross-country skiing in our many state parks.
