Making Our Communities Strong

State Representative Wendy Ullman represents the 143rd district in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Wendy was sworn in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on January 1st, 2019 as the only Democratic candidate to represent the 143rd district since Margaret H. George (D) in 1980. Wendy is proud to be part of the most diverse class of representatives elected to the Pennsylvania state legislature.

During her first term in the PA House of Representatives, she has brought over $4.7 million dollars to the 143rd district, the largest first-year investment across Bucks County. Representative Ullman has worked to secure funding for our schools and infrastructure, address recycling and single-use plastics issues, protect our environment, defend women and LGBTQ rights in Pennsylvania, recognize the importance of small farms and open space in the district, and work to help our Volunteer Firefighters and EMS.

Wendy serves on the following committees: Tourism & Recreational Development, Children & Youth, Health, and State Government.  She serves on the Public Higher Education Funding Commission Southeast Delegation. She is a member of the Student Debt Caucus, Pre-K Education Caucus, the PA SAFE Caucus, the PA SAFE Caucus, PASSHE Caucus, and Pre-K Caucus.

Before becoming a State Representative, Wendy taught English at Bucks County Community College and Montgomery County Community College for 30 years and was a member of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT-PA). She knows firsthand the challenges of being a working mom balancing family life and a fulfilling career. Wendy uses her experience with students to connect, listen, and work with others from different backgrounds.

Wendy and her husband Dan, a small business owner, have lived in Plumstead Township for 35 years. Together they raised three daughters, all graduates of Central Bucks schools. Wendy loves being outdoors and enjoys hiking local trails, bike riding, kayaking, and cross-country skiing with her husband and dog Gracie.

She is also a member of Plumstead Democrats, Pennsylvania Federation of Women Democrats, Delaware & Lehigh Natural Heritage Corridor, Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition and Moms Demand Action.
